Brand Development Exercise (Clover Lanes Bowling Center)

Continuing on Meta Description and Demographic, this project explores the use of typeface, colour and pattern in relation to describing and establishing a demographic.

After testing different combinations of colours and words, the colour yellow and the word hip were used to represent the Generation Y demographic. ‘Hip’ relates back to meta descriptions read on the internet, while yellow stands for creativity and optimism. A true hipster stands out in her own way and looks forward to the evolution of branding and design. She does not dread trend nor following. (I also based this combination on myself – my personality and my likes – as a member of Gen Y.) This font reminded me of a more zany version of the Amazon logo.
